A Message from Adv. Nelson Lolwane – Chairperson of Early Care Foundation

As the year draws to a close, it is with immense pride and gratitude that we at the Early Care Foundation (ECF) reflect on the milestones, partnerships, and progress we have achieved together in 2024. This year has been one of growth, collaboration, and renewed commitment to our mission of transforming the early childhood development (ECD) landscape in South Africa.

Welcoming New Trustees

We had the privilege of expanding our Board of Trustees with the addition of two esteemed individuals: Ms. Cathy Mohlahlana and Ms. Tamzin Stroucken. Their expertise, vision, and passion for education have already brought fresh perspectives to our leadership. Cathy’s background in media and communication, coupled with Tamzin’s strategic insights in finance, will undoubtedly help steer ECF towards greater impact. We warmly welcome them to the ECF family and look forward to their invaluable contributions.

Acknowledging Our Donors and Partners

None of our work would be possible without the unwavering support of our donors and partners. We extend our deepest gratitude to our long-standing supporters and the new donors who joined us this year. These partnerships are the backbone of our success, enabling us to reach more ECD centers and change more lives.

The First ECD Leadership Practices and Insights Summit:

In September, we hosted this groundbreaking event, bringing together esteemed delegates and thought leaders to discuss the future of leadership in the ECD sector. The exchange of ideas and practices at the summit was nothing short of inspiring, setting the stage for innovative approaches to nurturing young minds.

Honoring Our Dedicated Staff

Our team at ECF continues to provide incredible inspiration  with their dedication and passion. From trainers to program coordinators, administrative staff and management team, everyone plays a vital role in driving our mission forward. Your resilience, creativity, and tireless efforts have been the engine behind our growth this year. Thank you for making a difference every single day.

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate the achievements of 2024, we remain cognizant of the work that lies ahead. Together with our trustees, donors, staff, and partners, we are more determined than ever to continue building strong foundations for our youngest learners.
