The Early Care Foundation is one of three service providers working on the Kago Ya Bana Project which is funded by the Hollard Foundation in the Mid-Vaal district of Gauteng.

The Early Care Foundation is implementing its C.A.R.E. programme with 23 informal creches across the district. Distances, poor roads and extreme poverty are some of the challenges in this mostly rural project.

The intervention will provide site owners and their practitioners with a working knowledge of regulations and requirements for registration with the Departments of Social Development, Health and Safety.

Face-to-face tuition includes:

  • Children’s needs and centre requirements
  • Administration requirements
  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Educational needs and learning resources.

During follow-up visits, The Early Care Foundation trainers work alongside pre-school staff to assist with improving the child care practices and physical resources at the sites.
