We are pleased to announce that ASHA Trust has changed its name to The Early Care Foundation.
ASHA has enjoyed a rich and meaningful 80-year history in early childhood development (ECD) in Gauteng, having evolved from an association established in Soweto in 1938. Over the last decade ASHA Trust expanded to four provinces and worked to develop 588 informal ECD centres, built the knowledge of over 1190 ECD practitioners and made an impact on the lives of over 24 000 pre-schoolers.
Now as we move into our next phase we recognise the need for a brand that more accurately represents what we do and allows for our continued growth. We believe The Early Care Foundation reflects the organisation’s broadening vision. It talks to our aim of being instrumental in the systemic improvements in the quality of early care for pre-school children; and it encompasses our passion for opening up career paths for the women who care for them.
Without our loyal friends and donors, we would not exist. Thank you for being a part of our journey and we look forward to continuing this relationship into the future.
